Design for the decade
At the start of 2010, Pantone, an internationally recognised authority on colour nominated PANTONE® 15-5519 Turquoise as the colour of the year. They observed that turquoise represented a form of escape with its inviting hue inspired by water and the sky, and that it translated easily to fashion and interiors.
At Home Option Gallery we are constantly exposed to an amazing array of design innovations and trends, but as we head into the next decade distinct trends have emerged that appear likely to stay for some time.
The Spring 2010 edition of Gallery is our special Design Issue that showcases the move towards strong, ordered structures and uncluttered optimism. Even traditional styles are being modified to incorporate the latest innovations and technologies.
In this issue we celebrate the latest in home design from our suppliers’ products and services. It seemed timely to focus on all things ‘Design’ including colour, function, structure, innovation, lifestyle and energy efficiency.
Our Design Issue profiles the continuing influence of minimalism in kitchen design, gorgeous bathroom designs from leading Australian architect Ian Moore, clever pairing of solar power technology with roof tiles, new ranges of bricks that will surprise and a modern take on exterior wall cladding.
We also cover enduring custom-made furniture, energy-efficient lighting, innovative ceiling fans and premium decorative surfaces plus a great offer from LJ Hooker.
Can you spot the design icons and colour trends that will emerge within the next decade?
